Ken Flores served as Rey Feo LXX in 2018, the same year his daughter was La Reina de La Feria de las Flores. His father, Tony, was Rey Feo in 1996, the same year his daughter was La Reina. And in 2003, Ken’s mother in 2003 was the first Hispanic woman to be president of the Fiesta San Antonio Commission.The Floreses’ San Antonio-based companies, Allegiance Environmental Services and Helpful Hands Inc.
This week, Tony Flores had staff turn away a reporter at the Helpful Hands business, claiming Flores was in a meeting and that he would later call. A reporter left copies of documents that detail some of the allegations. The court records said the two former civilian employees, Karisa Waysepappy Kelley and John Jordan “Chip” Mathes, illegally leaked confidential cost estimates from the government and bid information to Flores’ companies the inside track on contracts, and to get an extension on one of them.
“We’re taking full responsibility,” said Mathes’ lawyer, Shannon Locke, who posts videos on TikTok talking about the criminal justice system.
