Fernando Torres was a huge hit with Liverpool fans during his time at Anfield and the Spaniard has shown he still has a strong association with the club
Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been spotted training in a Reds shirt with 'Alexander-Arnold 66' on the back, showing his continued connection to the club.
The 39-year-old is set to play at Anfield next weekend when the Liverpool Legends team take on Ajax Legends. In January 2011, Torres upset Liverpool fans when he signed for Chelsea for a then-British record transfer fee of £50million. Despite struggling for consistency at Stamford Bridge, Torres won the Champions League and the FA Cup in the 2011-12 season, as well as the Europa League in the following campaign.
Torres made 110 appearances for Spain, scoring 38 times, including the winning goal in the 2008 European Championships final against Germany. He also went on to win the World Cup in South Africa in 2010 before Spain retained their title of European Champions in 2012, capping off a remarkable international career for the prolific striker. The best LFC news, features, videos and podcasts Nobody covers Liverpool Football Club in more detail than the ECHO.
