One of the attendees reportedly attacked one of the police horses with an umbrella
A huge fight broke out between police and a 'far right' group at a St George's Day march in London. Police responded to the 'disorder' at the event which is thought to have been attended by far right groups and football hooligans.
Now, in videos shared online by the Met Police, people waving flags and chanting "England till I die" can be seen attempting to push through a wall of officers - including some on horseback - to get to people behind the police, reports the Mirror. A significant police presence was in the area as tensions threatened to boil over. One of the attendees attacked one of the horses with an umbrella.
"This group went past it and continued up Whitehall. When officers formed a cordon and asked the group to turn round, they reacted by violently forcing their way through. Mounted officers intervened with horses to restore the cordon."
