Relatives had called for a plaque in recognition of the 4,000 men who had trained near Filey.
Glenn Parsons said he would continue to campaign for the plaque to be moved to Memorial Gardens
"My main concern is that the servicemen have been rendered invisible over time, their contributions are simply not noted," said Mr Parsons. Mr Parsons's uncle, Gilmour Westcarr, trained at Hunmanby Moor, which had previously been a Butlin's holiday camp, in 1944 and 1945.
