It's dry, and with low humidity and winds gusting possibly as high as 25 miles per hour, the risk for fires will increase. An air quality alert also will be in effect tomorrow from the Harrisburg area across York and Lancaster counties.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. A Red Flag Warning might be issued, the NWS said.
Sunny skies are forecast across the area with northwest winds at 10 to 20 miles per hour and gusts up to 25 mph, especially over higher terrain. Meanwhile, the relative humidity will be as low as 20 to 25 percent, accompanied by temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to lower 80s. Rapid wildfire growth and spread is expected. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
