The Coyote fire started Thursday afternoon off Coyote Holler Road, about fives miles north of Tecate
near the community of Potrero was fully contained Sunday night, Cal Fire officials said.
Precipitation from Tropical Storm Hillary — which moved through San Diego County Sunday — helped firefighters reach full containment on the Coyote fire, officials said. The blaze started just after noon Thursday off Coyote Holler Road, about five miles north of Tecate. The and threatened homes as crews on the ground and on air tankers and water-dropping helicopters rushed to control the fire, officials said.A firefighter suffered a heat-related injury and was treated at a hospital, officials said. A home and an outbuilding were destroyed.
