Pedestrian Helen Sinclair, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to a collision on Alloa Road on Sunday night.
A Scots pensioner who tragically died after being knocked down by a car in Stirling has been named by police.
They said: “The whole family is devastated following our tragic loss. We would like to express thanks to everyone who was there at the incident and gave assistance and to everyone that has sent messages and offered support to us all. “The family respectfully request privacy at this sad time.” The busy road was closed for around eight hours as cops carried out an investigation.
Road Policing Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are very much with Helen’s family at this difficult time. We’ll continue to support them and keep them updated with our investigation.

Officers from Police Scotland launched a frantic search to trace the 35-year-old from Drylaw, Edinburgh, after he was last seen on January 7.
