The group's synth, disco and hippie-influenced sound is a change of pace from Fishbone's...

With Austin-based guitarist Kris Jensen and synth-and-drums man Jim Greer backing him up, Moore uses this project to go on different paths musically he couldn’t do with Fishbone.

It’s never been difficult for Moore to bounce from one musical genre to another. It’s something he’s been doing ever since he was a kid growing up in L.A. “I was definitely a fly in the buttermilk, because I grew up in a neighborhood that was predominantly white,” he remembers. “And so, along with that – and a little racism mixed in with the neighborhood – I got to hear a lot of different music, rock music and stuff like that.

But he’s not done with Fishbone. In fact, he’ll be back in Houston with the band this August, at House of Blues, as the opening act for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. Even though he’s getting up there in age, are his shows with Fishbone still, shall we say, acrobatic?
