Five hidden waterfalls in Lancashire - and where to find them
Lancashire plays host to a huge range of gorgeous landscapes, from bracing coastline to rugged hills.
With several different routes on offer, you can opt for a short, one hour walk around the lake, where a path takes you to the stunning waterfall. You can choose to meander round the park to take you back to the car park, or you can simply head straight back around the pond. You can take in the gorgeous views in the serene forest area by following the footpath, which is linked to the local public footpath system. Featuring tree shaded hiking trails, a stream and beautiful cascades, Fairy Glen is well worth a visit.
A short circular walk from the Yorkshire Dales village of Ingleton, the trail itself is open seven days a week through the year apart from on Christmas Day and takes on average two and half hours. There is a charge to enter the walk, limited free parking for ticket holders, toilets, picnic areas at various points on the walk, and dogs are welcome, although they may need to be on leads on farmland.
Once you reach the path, you can start the trail itself, which is open all year round. Its postcode is PR5, 0SE. For more details, click here.
