Police are investigating the death, but do not suspect any foul play at present.
A toddler in Florida has died after her parents reportedly left her in a car by mistake. The one-and-a-half-year-old girl, who has not been named, was discovered by her parents after 6 p.m. on Monday after they are said to have left her in a Jeep all day. The temperature in Tampa reached a high of 90 degrees Fahrenheit, records show., and upon arrival at the family home in the 9400 block of North 19th Street, first responders found her to be unconscious and not breathing.
"They have several other children as well and, in an effort to get everybody where they needed to go, the toddler was left in the backseat.""The dad used the vehicle the toddler was in to take people to school and to work, then took a separate car to work and that caused him to forget the child was in the backseat of the car," he said."He left and went to work and then came home.
In June, a two-year-old boy identified as Noah Sneed was found dead in a day care center's transport van in Oakland Park, Florida. Staff at Ceressa's Daycare & Preschool found Noah's body outside the facility in 21st Avenue shortly after 3:30 p.m. and it was reported that he was left in the van by staff since morning. Temperatures rose above the 90s that day.
Broward County's Child Care Licensing and Enforcement section shut down the center after the death and it is currently being investigated by the Broward Sheriff's Office.
