New Jersey will finish distributing all August food stamps, worth up to $1,691, to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients on Saturday.
In the Garden State, the benefits are sent out the first five days of each month depending on the seventh digit of a beneficiary's case number, according to the electronic benefits transfer app Providers. For each additional member in a New Jersey household, SNAP adds up to $211. In New Jersey, all eligible households receive a minimum of $95 in monthly benefits as of March 2023.The monthly amount for eligible SNAP recipients can be accessed through a Families First electronic benefits transfer card, according to New Jersey's Department of Human Services. The Families First card can be swiped like a debit card at checkout in most grocery stores and some participating farmers markets.
