“It did bum me out more than I thought it was going to. It kind of hit me this week that wow, this is not happening,” Samantha Delvalle-Trinh, a senior at Harrisburg University in Pennsylvania, told. “Your entire college career you think about graduation. It’s your motivation to be done.” Though she’s not a first-generation herself, Johnna Thompson was the first in her immediate family to earn her master’s degree. So, when she heard that her graduation from Eastern Michigan University was postponed there were tears in her eyes.
