Larry Andersen, a longtime broadcaster for the Phillies, will always be known best in Houston for being traded to Boston for Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell.PHILADELPHIA — In the Phillies’ radio booth at Citizens Bank Park calling this World Series sits one of the seminal figures in Astros history.Larry Andersen takes all the jokes in stride. It’s been 32 years since the then-37-year-old reliever was traded for a third baseman in Boston’s farm system named Jeff Bagwell.

“I laugh about it and joke about it a lot. It’s fun. It’s all part of the game and it makes it fun. It’s good conversation.” Andersen’s memories of pitching in Houston are indelible. He signed as a free agent with the Astros in May 1986. The Astros won the National League West that season and battled the Mets in a gripping NLCS before falling in six games.
