Louie Fehrensen has played with a top club team and Olympic Development Program
Louie Fehrensen paused ever so slightly and then answered, as if he was admitting something.
His coach, Gerardo Arellano, appreciates the versatility of both Fehrensen and teammate Emiliano Tovar, part of a one-two punch that has Valhalla ranked among the top teams in the section with veteran programs like Bishop’s, Cathedral Catholic and La Jolla. Fehrensen, who just last week verbally committed to San Jose State, kicked up his game between last year, when the Norsemen advanced to the Southern California Regionals for the first time in school history, and this year.
“At Shores, you’re playing only with the best, so you have to be at your best. Always. It raised my competitiveness to another level.”“That was even a higher look,” said Fehrensen of the top 50 players from the section, who also carries a 4.3 GPA. “It was a mix of players from all different clubs who had already committed to college. Both of them were amazing, and I plan to do both again after this season.
