Electrify America (EA) wants to be the Supercharger network for every electric vehicle driver that doesn’t have a Tesla and is now teaming up with Ford
Electrify America wants to be the Supercharger network for every electric vehicle driver that doesn’t have a Tesla. Since the first charging stations started opening opening in mid-2018, the Volkswagen of America subsidiary has been cutting deals with vehicle makers and expanding its network. The latest to join up with EA is Ford.
EA currently has about 315 locations with 1,421 chargers ranging from 50 to 350 kW. By the end of 2021, EA plans to have 800 locations with 3,500 chargers covering 45 states including major cities and highway routes. Each of the EA stations has both CHAdeMO and CCS charge connectors to support all of the EVs on the market although Tesla’s need to use an adapter to their proprietary connector.
