Documents show Mr Bradley received more than £218,000 in donations for his East Midlands Mayor election campaign
One of Nottingham Forest's owners has been listed as a donor to Ben Bradley's East Midlands Mayor campaign. All those who stood in the May 2 election had to send a full list of all their spending and donations to Nottingham City Council by Friday .
Mr Kominakis is a Greek businessman who, together with Evangelos Marinakis, headed up the consortium which purchased Forest from the Kuwaiti Al-Hasawi family in 2017. Mr Bradley came second overall in the East Midlands Mayor race for the Conservative Party, losing out to Labour's Claire Ward.Although Mr Kominakis is listed as a donor to Mr Bradley's campaign, Mr Bradley says it is not true to say that those listed as donors gave money directly to his campaign.
This is the approach taken by Labour's Claire Ward, whose donations list includes only one donation of more than £130,000 from the Labour Party. Data from the Electoral Commission published on Thursday previously showed that Mr Kominakis made two donations worth £50,000 each to the Conservatives earlier this year.
