Spider-Man's past is haunting Kraven.

Recently, Kraven the Hunter, who, with the help of the Queen Goblin, transfers the dark spirit of the Green Goblin into Spider-Man. Kraven takes part in this hoping for the hunt of a lifetime, and the newly sinister Spider-Man is happy to oblige him.
But Kraven bites off more than he can chew in The Amazing Spider-Man #33 by Zeb Wells, Patrick Gleason, Marcio Menyz, and Joe Caramagna. Early in the issue, Spider-Man injects Kraven with a mysterious serum. In due time, Kraven soon learns that the serum acts as a pheromone that then attracts a familiar D-list face: Vermin.
Vermin appears — with his herd in tow — in a truly spooky panel filled with glowing red eyes. Kraven's pheromone is certainly the culprit, as Vermin announces that "sssomething ssssmmelllls tasty tasty..."Underrated Marvel Villain Vermin Is More Dangerous Than Ever Originally introduced as a villain of Captain America, Vermin soon beame a staple of Spider-Man's rogues gallery, thanks in large part to the role he plays in Kraven's Last Hunt.
It has been ages since Vermin has been featured prominently — or featured at all, for that matter. He's D-list for a reason, and when he does show up, he is usually disposed of just as fast as he is re-introduced. This story disposes of him pretty quickly as well, but whereas past comics have literally disposed of him with a quick and humiliating defeat, Vermin leaves an impact here by mangling one of Spider-Man's most notable foes.
One coould call it a return to form, but even in his prime, Vermin never posed much of a threat — at least not to this level. Either way, this seems like the start of something new for Vermin. Assuming that this isn't a one-off for an issue meant to carry the spirit of Kraven's Last Hunt, Vermin could slowly be working his way back up the ranks to being a Spider-Man villain worth taking seriously.
