A hidden graveyard, once part of the Front Street Baptist Chapel, has been discovered behind shops in Arnold. Locals are unaware of its existence, with one passer-by admitting he never realized it was there. The graveyard contains two flat grave stones, covered in litter and weeds, including headstones for Ann Mann and Sarah Wayte.

Sandwiched between Costa Coffee and Boyes in Arnold is a brick-built block with weeds growing out the top. From Front Street you can't really tell what it is. But walk up the path towards a car park behind one of the shops and you will see two flat grave stones, strewn with cigarette packets, chocolate wrappers and other litter. Hidden from street view some locals don't even know of their existence. One passer-by said he never realised they were there.

It turns out Front Street Baptist Chapel and a graveyard used to be on the site. The chapel was demolished nearly 60 years ago. The Co-op was later built, and it then became department store Boyes. Also amongst the weeds and litter is another stone "in affectionate remembrance" of Sarah Wayte, who died aged 71, in October 185
