Joseph Valente won the BBC show back in 2015 with his plumbing business.
A former winner of The Apprentice has revealed they only found out they won the show when it aired on TV.But the entrepreneur, 35, has revealed all is not as it seems on the reality series, with producers deliberately making tasks harder than they need to be.
'It was just because they had to do due diligence and see if any issues were found post-filming that meant Lord Sugar couldn't possibly pick you as his business partner. Contestants are forbidden from telling anyone they were doing the show with Joseph telling his colleagues he had to go Italy to care for his sick aunt where he wouldn't have access to a phone or internet.
He said this can lead to contestants coming up with things that look 'stupid' and said producers do it deliberaly because if everyone comes up with an incredible product or service it won't be 'entertaining' for the viewers.
Joseph parted ways with Lord Sugar two years after winning the show and founded Trade Mastermind which trains people within trades and construction business which he believes will become 'a billion-dollar empire'.
