A Nottinghamshire businesswoman says she is ‘on cloud nine’ after opening a beauty and aesthetics practice in a former bingo hall. Anna Davenport-Brown, from Trowell, opened up The Aesthetics and Beauty Co, on South Street, Ilkeston on Saturday, September 9 - the former Ritz Bingo Hall - with an ‘amazing’ launch.
"I happened to notice that this place was up for rent and it was a bit strange because a few months ago I had parked over in the car park and I looked over and I thought I would love that little unit there. At the time, it wasn’t available but I thought if you could draw my perfect place this would be it.
She continued: “It stems this creativity itch that came from my dad and he passed away in June this year. In a way, it's spurred me on to do this. “I wanted to create a space that when people come into instantly feel calm, relaxed vibes, I never rush people I explain things. A lot of the time people are sat in that chair and are petrified. It’s being that person that you trust to do it.
Speaking about her launch on Saturday , Anna said: “It was incredible, the shop was absolutely packed on Saturday. People just wanted to come in because they’d seen and wanted to know what I was going to be. We had prosecco and cake it was lovely. I was on cloud nine because of all the support, it was amazing. One of the best days of my life.”
