A former food bank director was indicted for allegedly stealing from the non-profit, as well as paying a volunteer for sex acts.
James Gill, 81, was taken into custody Friday, accused of stealing thousands from the Sumner County Food Bank, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. He has been under investigation for over a year.
The TBI says Gill used the food bank's money to make personal purchases and that he wrote bad checks to himself and others from the food bank’s account and transferred the money to other accounts under a different non-profit name. They also allege he paid a food bank volunteer for sex acts.Gill is charged with theft of property over $250,000, money laundering and patronizing prostitution. His bond is set at $75,000.
