Blackstone Real Estate acquired the 47-acre industrial complex at 4040 Forest Lane from a New Jersey investor that Until 2013, the almost 650,000-square-foot industrial complex housed a vehicle assembly plant for Navistar International Corp. The truck manufacturer closed the plant, which had employed 900 workers, and shifted production to operations in Mexico and Ohio.New York-based investor Blackstone is one of the country’s largest operators of logistics real estate. The company owns and operates more than 440 million square feet of industrial facilities across the U.S.
Investors have bought up billions of dollars of Dallas-Fort Worth industrial properties in the last two years.
