"Joe Biden is not a perfect man, but he is a man of humble decency," they added."America needs a restored sense of national unity, basic civility and true character in our president."Djou represented Hawaii's 1st congressional district in 2010 to 2011 as the first Thai American of any party and the first Chinese American Republican to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.
"He is simply an ill-formed man who lacks basic self-control and shows no semblance of inner character," the Roll Call op-ed read. The two quoted former president George W. Bush about immigration as"a blessing and a strength," saying they stand with Bush's conservative values rather than Trump's, which"bears a much closer relationship to the autocrats in Turkey or Russia or China than the American Statue of Liberty."
