Following the departure of Brandon Flood as the secretary of the Board of Prisons, Gov. Tom Wolf has appointed Celeste Trusty to the role. Trusty was most recently the Pennsylvania State Policy Director at Families Against Mandatory Minimums, an organization that works to create a “fair and effective justice system that respects our American values of individual accountability and dignity while keeping our communities safe,” according to its mission statement.
Trusty made her first appearance in the role as a panelist for First Lady Frances Wolf’s Women In Reentry: Clemency, Expungement, and Clean Slate virtual discussion on Jan. 5.
