Former Judson ISD police officer William Towery is facing up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
TEXAS — A New Braunfels man and former Judson ISD police officer is looking at prison time after being convicted of threatening President Joe Biden.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 55-year-old William Oliver Towery threatened Biden on Dec. 11, 2019, when the president was a candidate. Court documents show that Towery responded to a text message alerting of a campaign appearance. He wrote, “I’ll be there and have been practicing my sniping skills all month just for this occasion. If you will be nell [sic] near him you may want to wear something dark to hide the blood splatter.”
Towery is facing up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000. The case was investigated by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and the San Antonio Police Department.
