Kenny Burrough, the former Texas Southern standout who played 11 seasons for the Oilers from 1971-81, died at age 73.Quarterback Dan Pastorini and wide receiver Kenny Burrough arrived in Houston the same year and played 11 seasons together.
After an injury-plagued rookie year with New Orleans, the Oilers acquired Burrough — the 10th overall pick in the 1970 draft — in a multiplayer trade that turned out to be lopsided in the Oilers’ favor. “I’ll never forget the first pass I threw to Kenny, a go route in training camp, and I overshot him,” Pastorini said Thursday. “He came back to the huddle and said, ‘Nobody’s ever done that to me.’ I said, ‘What do you mean?’ And he said, ‘Overshot me like that.’Pastorini and Burrough were stars on Bum Phillips’"Luv Ya Blue" Oilers.
