And do you know what, there should be a statue up there of me outside the Etihad.”In May this year, Halsey, who lives in Spain, sparked fury from Gillingham fans after he posted a picture of him going to the Champions League final with a caption that read: “Come on City.”Halsey said: “I took my daughter and her boyfriend, obviously he’s Spanish, a Madrid fan.
“I got some tickets, went up there, had our picture taken in the train station at Alicante, ‘on our way to Madrid’. Being British, as you do, you always want the British side to do well.”He added: “Some I just put a picture on, ‘come on City’ and then all of a sudden ‘bing, bing, bing, bing’. I went absolutely ballistic. The Gillingham fans, oh my god, wanted the FA to do an investigation 24 years after the event.
