Former Steelers, Eagles RB reportedly involved in fight following youth football game, police investigating
, Blount, who spent eight years in the NFL, including the 2014 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and 2017 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, is believed to have taken part in a fight following a game between his youth team, the GCYFC Gators, and the Chandler Elite Bears.
Police in Gilbert, Arizona responded to “multiple reports of adults fighting during a youth football game,” according to TMZ. They are still reportedly investigating the incident. “Regardless of that, I take full responsibility for my part in it and for putting myself in this situation,” he wrote. “I apologize to all of my players and parents and also to the players and parents on the other team. As a leader, coach, father and a role model I understand my actions are unacceptable. I hope and pray for your understanding and forgiveness and plan to continue to be a positive impact in the lives of our youth.
He also had two stints with the New England Patriots and was a three-time Super Bowl champion, who also led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in 2016. He wrapped up his eight-year career in 2018 with the Detroit Lions.
