McAllen-based filmmaker Michael Flanagan first made a short film about Fisher while earning his master’s at the University of North Texas. He then developed the project into a feature film.“It’s a shame for those who didn’t know Vernon Fisher,” he said. “For those who want to know more about this great, there’s the chance there [at the film festival].”
