Now, a clip from episode 4 of the Frasier reboot on Paramount Plus reveals the first look at Eddie's replacement in the new series. Watch the clip below: The clip begins with Frasier preparing a meal at the firehouse before facing off against a new four-legged foe – an unnamed Dalmatian. The dog essentially acts as the replacement for Martin's Jack Russell Terrier, Eddie, from the original series. The clip makes numerous references to Frasier's checkered past with the previous pooch – "I outlasted that little mongrel, I'll outlast you.
In the original series, Martin's canine acted as Frasier's constant comedic foil. With the reboot installing a new, but familiar father-son dynamic between Frasier and Freddie, it only makes sense that his blue-collar son has a new canine who clashes with Frasier's refined and cultured personality.
