A free tattoo removal program for former gang members is relaunching in Salt Lake City.
The Salt Lake County Metro Gang Unit and University of Utah Health partnered to provide the service to former gang members at no cost.Salt Lake police seize 5 firearms from 18-year-old as part of gang investigationFree tattoo removals were put on hold for over a year after the laser broke; however, legislation sponsored by Rep. Jennifer Dailey-Provost was passed in 2023 to purchase a new laser.
Adults and juveniles who want to remove any visible symbols of their former gang affiliation were encouraged to apply.
