The high street giant entered administration last month
High street giant Wilko will begin shutting doors from Tuesday, September 12, as the first round of closures gets under way. The chain, which is headquartered in Nottinghamshire, entered administration last month, putting thousands of jobs at risk.
Further redundancies were also made last week, with 229 roles going at two distribution centres. The future of Wilko’s remaining 300 branches and thousands of jobs remains uncertain. Last month, bosses filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators after failing to find a buyer. They thanked staff for their support and said they "remain committed" to helping those impacted by the decision.
