Fundraiser to support family of grandad who died at Rivington Pike hits £1,000 in just a few days
More than £1,000 has been raised to support the family of a much loved grandad who died one day after scattering his brother's ashes.
After his death, daughter-in-law Ioana Nistor organised a fundraiser as a way to help with the funeral costs and to arrange for a memorial bench to be installed at Rivington Pike - which was one of his favourite places to visit. Speaking to LancsLive, Ioana said that Mark was the kind of person who would lift the spirits of others just through his presence.She said: "We wanted to say how much he loved life and the kind of feeling you had when he was in the room.
On that day, Mark was running with his pet dog and the sudden death came as a complete shock to the family. Ioana said Mark loved life and was fully of energy. He was much loved my his wife, children, grandchildren and all who knew him well. It states: "Mark was a mountain biker who was very passionate about the outdoors and about life in general. He loved life, he loved his family and all the holidays they had together. He was kind, he was funny and he would do anything for anyone at a drop of a hat.
