Community loses cherished coffee shop as The Angel closes its doors ☕
An independent coffee shop in Lincoln has reportedly closed, with the doors remaining shut.It describes itself as “Lincoln’s friendliest independent coffee shop”.
Earlier this month, the Lincoln LGTBQI Network posted on social media “with a heavy heart” that the shop had notified them of the “difficult decision to permanently close,” depriving the group of its cherished Sunday meeting spot.The Lincolnite has made repeated efforts to reach The Angel Coffee House.
On a recent visit during the morning of Tuesday, June 20, we found the doors tightly shut and no signs of activity within. The sign outside shows that the shop typically welcomes visitors from 8.30am-4pm Tuesday to Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturdays, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.An email was met with a “delivery incomplete” notification. A Facebook message resulted in silence even though the message showed as seen, and there was no reply by the time of publication.
