Former Baptist office building and Federal Reserve near completion
JWB Real Estate Capital's adaptive reuse of the Florida Baptist Convention building downtown is nearing completion, with work also continuing apace on the nearby old Federal Reserve building — bringing retail, restaurant space and apartments to the structures built in the 1920s.
“There were materials we couldn’t get and delays. When you buy one of these buildings, you find things you didn’t expect. We put more cash into it then we thought we were going to,” Sifakis said. “It’s been a long time coming. It’s pretty exciting to get it done.” “We’re really looking to build an amazing experience downtown, so we want high-end curated restaurants that are going to be in this space,” Sifakis said in a previous interview.
