Zombies descended upon downtown Salt Lake City on Saturday in an annual pumpkin-filled event.

The Gateway welcomed ghouls, goblins and giant gourds for the Pumpkinpalooza and Zombie Walk from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The family-friendly event included a contest for the biggest pumpkin. Huge watermelons, sunflowers and other vegetables were also on display.Attendees were also welcomed to dress in their best zombie attire for a Zombie Walk through the streets. A costume contest was held for a chance to win prizes.“We are thrilled to bring the Giant Pumpkinpalooza and Zombie Walk to The Gateway for a day of unique fun, community, and Halloween spirit,” said event organizer Clint Nash.
