Gary Neville has called for a major change to the Premier League spending rules that led to Manchester United sanctioning the exit of some of their academy stars.
McTominay was not the only United academy graduate to leave United or other clubs this summer, and Neville believes that reality is the result of an issue with the current Profit & Sustainability Rules . The United legend has explained why he believes the current rules are forcing clubs to part ways with their academy players and, as a result, needs to be changed.
Neville was also vocal in his support of his belief that Newcastle should be allowed to spend more freely in the transfer market. The former United captain explained what he thinks needs to change to allow clubs like Newcastle to compete at the top end of the Premier League.
