Water flows out of one of the five gates into the San Jacinto River on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the San Jacinto River Authority spillway of the Lake Conroe Dam in Conroe.rain days earlier in the week have subsided, more rain is predicted“We really didn’t get the kind of rain here on Lake Conroe like our neighbors down south have received,” said Heather Ramsey Cook, spokesperson for the San Jacinto River Authority.The authority oversees gate operations at the Lake Conroe Dam.
Even though the rain event was considered moderate, Cook said it provided an opportunity to practice hazardous weather operations and communication.
