A few days after that, they confirmed they'd named their son Thiago, or Tio for short. Gemma has since spoken about Thiago's birth, telling fans she didn't get her hoped for a vaginal birth after having to have an emergency C-section with Mia before she suffered a traumatic haemorrhage. Ahead of the show airing on August 30, Gemma and Gorka have opened up about the birth of their first child which saw the then first-time mum forced to have an emergency Cesarean when her unborn daughter's heart rate dropped suddenly. My first birth was a traumatic one," Gemma told MailOnline.
"'It's hard for me because I'm away quite a lot with my job so often it feels like I'm missing some of the best things as I love being a parent and I love my family,' Gorka told the publication. And it was Gorka's Strictly co-star Giovanni Pernice who stepped in and asked Gemma to FaceTime Gorka when he stayed back at the hotel on his own because he was missing her and Mia.
