Ordinarily, those parks would charge entrance fees of $5 to $35. The other 309 national park sites do not charge entrance fees. "Free entrance days serve as additional motivation for people to get outside and enjoy these places of inspiration and recreation," said National Park Service Deputy Director David Vela in a statement announcing the waived fees.
