A recent survey found the top reasons why someone would leave a hotel without a guaranteed refund.
The Vacationer
— a website dedicated to delivering “accurate and comprehensive breaking news and guides to help better your travel experiences and vacation planning” — sent out this survey to over 1,000 Americans asking them what would cause them to leave a hotel knowing they wouldn’t get their money back, something they’ve deemed a “hotel dealbreaker.”
“What incidents are people most likely to put up with?” wonders the accompanying article. “Are some inconveniences at hotels more important than others? What is the most common reason someone would leave a hotel without a guaranteed refund?”. A little over 81 percent of those survey admitted they’d bounce from an establishment, no guaranteed money back necessary, should they find the pest in their room.
Another 68.14 percent claimed any kind of foul odor — be it from cigarettes or urine — would cause them to do the same while another 66.08 percent said finding a camera would be the dealbreaker. Let’s hope the latter is the least likely experience.reasons they’d leave a hotel with no refund, one of them being “seeing a ghost or sensing the hotel is haunted.”
“The 19.76% that said seeing a ghost or sensing the hotel is haunted is a dealbreaker represent 51 million people,” elaborates the website. “This means that one in five people in America that stay at a hotel would leave due to the perception of haunted activity.”If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
