The Giants are looking to upgrade their offensive line, which will be missing tackle Andrew Thomas on Thursday vs. the 49ers.
Former Giants offensive tackle Justin Pugh last played for the Arizona Cardinals in 2022.The Syracuse alum had ACL surgery 11 months ago and told Schwartz he would need to ramp up for two or three weeks before taking the field again.
“I think I bring a lot to the table in terms of my play and what I do off the field,’’ Pugh said. “The fact I even have to sell myself gets me a little upset. Turn on the film and you can watch it yourself. Talk to any team I’ve been on and they’ll tell you what type of man I am. “I want to win football games. I’m not in Year 10 just to be a mentor, either. I fit a lot of the Giants needs and they fit a lot of my needs, but at the same time we have to be realistic where we’re at.“I’m not doing this for the money. I’m not asking for what I was getting early on in my career. I’m doing this to chase a ring and that’s something that has to be a realistic expectation as well.’’
