Grieving girlfriend of man knifed to death on doorstep screams 'rot in hell' as killer jailed
The grieving girlfriend of a man stabbed to death told his killer to "rot in hell" as he was jailed for life on Thursday.
Sentencing, the Honorary Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary KC said: "You brutally stabbed to death your victim. This was a senseless and pointless killing and resulted simply from your loss of temper and aggressive rage. "I am perfectly satisfied that Mr Moore did not intend to frighten, scare or harm in any way those young girls. It was loud behaviour, perhaps in drink, but this small and relatively harmless incident plainly had terrible consequences.
"There was no reason for Mr Moore to attack you at all. As far as he was concerned, his last meeting with you had been warm and friendly. "I would submit that the fairest approach is to sentence the defendant on the basis he was, at some stage, in some way under attack by Mr Moore. He felt he had to defend himself, but what he did was out of all proportion with what was reasonable in the circumstances.
