State's top five wrestlers ranked at each weight
Jayla Hahn of Southern pins Gabriella Cardell of Jackson Memorial to win the 138 pound final during the finals of the Shore Conference girls wrestling tournament at Jackson Liberty High School in Jackson, NJ on Monday, January 16, 2023.While Jayla Hahn of Southern retains her top spot at 138 there has otherwise been a mass exodus at that weight as the rest of last week’s Top 5 have moved out of the class.
Several other wrestlers, at varying weights, have also dropped down a weight class, and in some cases, out of the rankings. Expect more weight changes to continue as we approach the regional tournaments scheduled for Feb. 19. The N.J. High School Sports newsletter is now appearing in mailboxes 5 days a week.
