Heading abroad? Here's what you need to know ✈️
From next year, airports are being told to install new security technology that will allow travellers to carry on more than 100ml liquids at large airports with other restrictions such as electrical equipment also being lifted.
There are different rules if you’re taking goods to sell or temporarily abroad for business reasons, reports Bristol Live, for example sales samples, professional equipment or musical instruments for a performance. And it's important to note that airport security staff will not let anything through that they consider dangerous - even if it’s normally allowed in hand luggage.
Including stun guns, Tasers, animal killers, incapacitating chemicals, gases or sprays , pepper sprays, tear gas and animal repellent sprays. They add: "Please note that this list only refers to the carriage of items on board the aircraft. With regards to liquids, you will still be restricted to 100ml when passing through security. A single cigarette lighter may be carried on your person.
You must not open the security bag until you reach your final destination. Airport staff may need to open the items to screen the liquid at the security point.
