A petition has been launched calling for better safety measures on walking routes across Glasgow with a demonstration planned to highlight the issue.
Glasgow City Council is being urged to implement safe walking routes through parks as promised in December last year when a council motion was approved. It was agreed at the time that the council would explore the “necessary infrastructure to provide sensitive lighting solutions in our parks”.The petition has been launched calling for changes.
“Our message to Glasgow City Council is simple… stop kicking the can down the road on this. Take action and keep the people of Glasgow safe.” “Three parks were identified for inclusion in a pilot programme and engagement sessions with community reps and other stakeholders have already been held for Cranhill Park and Queen’s Park with a Kelvingrove session to be held in the coming days.
