Plans to demolish a former Littlewoods store and replace it with an 'apart hotel' in Glasgow are to be decided next week.
There are to be 161 guest rooms made up of 55 small studios, 75 large studios and 31 one bedroom units as well as a bar on the ground floor serving food and drinks, exercise room and terrace. The unlisted building, which is to be torn down "has lain vacant for a significant period," according to a council report.Council officials are recommending the development gets the go-ahead as long as apartments can only be occupied for a maximum of 89 days.
A design statement submitted on behalf of the developer said: "The application site is located within Glasgow City Centre and will involve the demolition of a long-standing vacant building with limited redevelopment capacity."
