A bad odour is deemed to be a 'statutory nuisance' if it interferes with the use or enjoyment of a home or other premise, or if it injures health
officers have been called out to deal with more than 1500 smell complaints across Glasgow in the last five years.
A freedom of information request by the Glasgow Times revealed that the local authority has received a total of 1529 smell-associated nuisance complaints since 2017, with 2020 seeing the highest number lodged at 298.
