ScotRail has warned that Glasgow commuters could face delays after a rail bridge was struck by a vehicle.
The incident took place between Shettleston and Carntyne this morning, March 29, and has resulted in its closure. Network Rail has confirmed engineers are on the scene to examine the damage caused. ScotRail posted on X: "We've had reports of a a vehicle striking a bridge between Shettleston and Carntyne. The bridge requires to be examined by @NetworkRailScot staff before services can pass over the bridge again. Network Rail added: "Our staff are attending a bridge strike between Shettleston and Carntyne. The bridge is a structure that requires to be examined by our engineers before services can pass over the bridge. This will require a line closure. We'll keep you updated."
