Dr Alyson Walker will be walking from sunrise to sunset 🚶‍♀️

A doctor at Glasgow Children's Hospital is today walking from sunrise to sunset in a bid to raise money to make operating theatres less 'intimidating' for little ones.

She added: "I am absolutely passionate about transforming our children's operating theatres from being intimidating and clinical places to being warm, calming and welcoming."I want children and parents who come to our theatres to feel that real love and empathy has gone into the design of our environment.

"By creating a child and young person-friendly place, I hope that anxiety in visiting theatres will be less and that children will share positive stories about the day they visited theatre."She added: "What motivates me is the children I see every day coming to us for operations, and their families. I am also motivated by my colleagues, who I think are simply wonderful people to work with.

"The work that Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity does is incredible, they bring the magic. I can't begin to describe the enormous difference that donations make."
